Police arrest man for allegedly killing wife in A’Ibom

Authorities in Akwa Ibom State have reported the apprehension of a 42-year-old man, Victor Okoh, in connection with the brutal killing of his 38-year-old wife, Victoria Okoh, at their home in Oron Local Government Area. The state’s Police Command confirmed the arrest, stating that it was prompted by a distress call from concerned residents.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the suspect was found hiding in the ceiling of the residence in an attempt to evade capture. Further investigations revealed that the victim was attacked with a machete by her husband, allegedly due to accusations of infidelity.

The deceased’s body has been taken to the local hospital’s morgue for autopsy as the investigation continues. The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, condemned the heinous act and assured the public that justice will prevail. He also emphasized the commitment of the command to safeguarding lives and urged against resorting to violence in dispute resolution.
