Oyo pays N513m compensation to property owners

The government of Oyo State has initiated the process of compensating owners of properties affected in the Ajia Inukan Local Council Development Area, Ona Ara Local Government. This was announced by the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr Williams Akin-Funmilayo, during a meeting with the claimants. The compensation is in response to the acquisition of land for various developmental projects in the area, including the construction of an Air Force Base, General Hospital, and Information Communication and Technology center. The government has allocated over five hundred million naira as compensation for the affected claimants to strengthen the relationship between the government and residents. The property owners were identified, verified, and their properties valued in preparation for the compensation payment. A beneficiary, Mr Adedokun Olalekan, expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for his support and understanding towards the people of Oyo State.
