Arsenal receive Lookman boost

Arsenal have received positive news regarding their interest in signing Ademola Lookman, as PSG is hesitant to meet Atalanta’s asking price, as per Sky’s transfer expert Florian Plettenberg.

Despite Lookman’s strong desire to join PSG, the potential transfer is currently at a standstill due to a lack of agreement between the two clubs, giving other potential suitors a chance to make a move.

Although PSG remains Lookman’s preferred choice, the likelihood of a move to Paris seems slim, even though there is a verbal agreement in place. This development opens up opportunities for other clubs to pursue the player.

Lookman was omitted from Atalanta’s squad for the match against Torino, marking the second consecutive game he has been left out, fueling speculation about his future.

Reports suggest that Arsenal, who have been closely following the situation, are considering a late move for Lookman, whose market value is estimated at around £51m.

Having excelled at Fulham and Leicester City on loan, Lookman made a permanent switch from RB Leipzig to Atalanta in 2022. He has made a significant impact in Italy, scoring 24 goals in 62 appearances for the club.

Lookman endeared himself to Atalanta fans by scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, helping the team secure their first-ever trophy. This achievement also made him the first player since Pierino Prati in 1969 to score a hat-trick in a one-legged European final.
