A Nigerian agro-based company, A.R.N Foods Limited, has established a partnership with AGI Milltec, a multinational manufacturing company, to construct a rice mill in Epe, Lagos State.
The agreement, signed by A.R.N Foods’ Chairman, Nola Adetola, involves the development of a rice mill with a production capacity of 8TPH in Lagos. This initiative marks A.R.N Foods’ foray into food processing and underscores its dedication to excellence, sustainability, and food safety.
Adetola emphasized that the collaboration with AGI Milltec aims to address food security challenges in Nigeria. He highlighted the long-term commitment to sustainable rice production and job creation as key objectives of the partnership.
A.R.N Foods, under its Chief Operating Officer Muhuydeen Giwa, has diversified its offerings to include various staple foods like paddy rice, maize, soybeans, and sorghum since rebranding as a food processing company two years ago. Giwa emphasized the company’s focus on providing quality and affordable agro-products.
The partnership between A.R.N Foods and AGI Milltec is geared towards enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring year-round availability of high-quality rice. AGI Milltec’s Head of Africa Region, Emmanuel del Pozzo, affirmed the company’s commitment to leveraging its expertise to deliver top-notch rice processing solutions that align with Nigerian standards.
The Epe Rice mill project, as highlighted by AGI Milltec’s Business Development Manager for Nigeria, Vincent Matthews, is tailored to suit the specific paddy varieties in Nigeria. Matthews expressed confidence in meeting the quality expectations set by A.R.N Foods and emphasized the potential for future export opportunities.
