NAF will bomb terrorists to submission – Zamfara gov

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has made it clear that his administration will not entertain the plea of terrorists to halt the bombing of their hideouts. This decision comes in response to the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to continue combating bandits and terrorists in the North-West region, particularly in Zamfara, until peace is restored.

Earlier, a suspected bandit leader named Garba Aminu had appealed in a social media video for the governor to engage in talks with terrorists to bring peace to the state. However, Governor Lawal emphasized that his government will persist in its fight against terrorism and will not engage in negotiations with criminals.

Through his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaiman Idris, the governor urged bandits and other terrorists in the state to surrender their weapons before any discussions could take place. He emphasized the importance of criminals laying down their arms before any potential next steps could be considered.

Additionally, a senior officer from the Nigerian Air Force, speaking anonymously, affirmed that the NAF would continue conducting airstrikes on terrorists until the state is free from criminal elements. The officer reiterated the commitment of the NAF to protect the people of Zamfara and ensure their safety and security, stating that the airstrikes would persist until normalcy is restored in the region.
