Shell has recently announced the appointment of Ronald Adams as the new Managing Director of its deep-water subsidiary in Nigeria, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited. This leadership change was confirmed in a statement by Shell Nigeria’s Media Relations Manager, Gladys Afam-Anadu. Adams, who previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic LNG in Trinidad and Tobago, is taking over from Elohor Aiboni, who has transitioned to an international assignment at Brunei Shell Petroleum as Asset Director.
The appointments of both Adams and Aiboni are effective as of October 1, as stated in the announcement. Osagie Okunbor, the Country Chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria, expressed his satisfaction at welcoming Ronald to Nigeria, commending the outstanding performance of SNEPCo under Aiboni’s leadership and acknowledging the new opportunities for Aiboni in Brunei.
With thirty-two years of experience in the energy sector, Adams has successfully navigated various challenges in Shell-operated and non-operated ventures. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of the West Indies and an MBA specializing in Strategic Planning from Herriot-Watt University in Scotland. Adams expressed his excitement about contributing to the success of SNEPCo and working with the talented team to deliver more value to stakeholders.
Aiboni, the outgoing Managing Director, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders in building a safe, efficient, and cost-effective business that leads deep-water operations in Nigeria. SNEPCo, known for its pioneering role in Nigeria’s deep-water development since 2005 with the Bonga Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading vessel, continues to play a significant role in the country’s oil and gas industry.
