The Benue State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Benjamin Omale, has reaffirmed the support of the people of the state and the party for the administrations of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia.
Omale also expressed the commitment of the party to work with all well-meaning Nigerians and stakeholders to deepen democracy, strengthen good governance, and ensure the continued delivery of democratic dividends to citizens.
The state chairman stated this in a statement issued on Friday and made available to journalists in Makurdi to commemorate Democracy Day.
Describing democracy as the best form of government, Omale called on Nigerians to remain united, law-abiding, and committed to the ideals of democracy, justice, peace, and national development.
He said, “Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous, more united Benue and Nigeria.
“As a party, we reaffirm our total support and loyalty to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia.
“We remain committed to working with all well-meaning Nigerians and stakeholders to deepen democracy, strengthen good governance, and ensure the continued delivery of democratic dividends to our people.”
Omale used the opportunity to commend Governor Hyacinth Alia for fostering peace, promoting inclusiveness, and strengthening institutions of governance in the state.
He described the governor’s visionary leadership, which he said has placed the state among the most developed subnational entities in the country.
“Through governor Alia’s visionary leadership, Benue State is witnessing a renewed sense of hope, progress, and development, thereby reinforcing the true essence and benefits of democratic governance,” Omale said.
The state party chairman thanked traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, security agencies, party faithful, elected representatives, public servants, the media, community leaders, and all stakeholders in the state who, he said, “had contributed to strengthening democracy and supporting the successful implementation of government policies and programmes in the state.”
