Labour Party has refuted claims of colluding with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general election. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, addressed these allegations in a statement released in Abuja.
The denial came in response to a video circulating online where human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju accused the party’s leadership of conspiring with Tinubu’s supporters to facilitate his presidential bid in 2027. However, the LP spokesperson dismissed these accusations as mere fabrications by Adeyanju.
Ifoh challenged the activist to provide concrete evidence to support his claims, emphasizing that the Labour Party has been a prominent opposition force since the 2023 elections. He emphasized that all allegations linking the party to any collaboration with the ruling party are baseless and untrue.
The Labour Party urged Adeyanju and others to substantiate their claims with facts regarding any involvement with President Bola Tinubu or the APC in the upcoming election. The party stated that the false assertions have damaged their reputation and urged for proof to support the allegations.
