The current leader of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Sokoto, Brigadier General Ibikunle Ajose, has emphasized the commitment of the Nigerian Army to bring peace to all parts of the country. General Ajose, who also heads Sector 2 Operation FASAN YAMMA, mentioned that there has been a significant decrease in insecurity in the northwest region compared to previous years.
During a visit by members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to the Division headquarters at Giginya Barracks in Sokoto, General Ajose expressed the Army’s unwavering determination to restore peace across the nation. He highlighted the noticeable improvement in security conditions and emphasized the reduced incidents of violence and other security threats.
General Ajose praised the collaborative efforts of security agencies at various levels and assured the public that Nigeria is becoming a safer place. He called for a strong partnership with the media, acknowledging their role in informing the public but also urging for accuracy and professionalism in reporting military activities.
