A businessman, Ibrahim Koleosho, popularly known as King White, has emerged as the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II ahead of the Lagos State House of Assembly election scheduled for 2027.
Koleosho secured the party’s ticket after reportedly polling 16,560 votes in the NDC primary election for the constituency.
In a statement personally signed on Saturday, the candidate described his victory as a reflection of the confidence and trust party members and supporters have in his leadership, vision and commitment to grassroots development.
While thanking supporters for standing by him throughout the process, Koleosho said his emergence represented a victory for ordinary residents seeking quality representation.
He said, “While my supporters are still celebrating the election outcome across the constituency, I want to say that my emergence is a victory for the youths, market women, artisans and residents who desire a new direction in representation.”
The NDC candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates, ward executives and members of the party for their support and confidence in his aspiration.
He pledged to run an inclusive campaign anchored on empowerment, education, infrastructure development and youth engagement, adding that the welfare of residents would remain a priority.
According to him, political observers believe his emergence has further strengthened his chances ahead of the state assembly election as support for his candidacy continues to grow across communities in Ifako-Ijaiye.
Koleosho said many residents view him as a grassroots politician who understands the challenges facing the people and possesses the determination required to provide effective representation.
He said, “With this victory, my sight is now set on the general election, carrying the hopes and aspirations of thousands of supporters who believe that a new era of leadership is possible for Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II.
“The journey has begun. Together, we will build a better and stronger Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency II.”
