The Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Sulaiman Mohammed Barade, on Monday inspected ongoing road construction projects in Numan and Yola, expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work.
Speaking during a visit to the Half Clover Interchange Road Project along Numan Road, Barade said the contractors were complying with approved specifications and delivering work in line with the state government’s expectations.
“I am satisfied with the quality and pace of work being executed here. The contractors are adhering to specifications, and this reflects the commitment of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration to deliver durable and modern infrastructure,” he said.
The commissioner, accompanied by engineers, ministry officials and project supervisors, said the government remained committed to improving transportation, stimulating economic activities and enhancing residents’ standard of living.
“Our administration is determined to ensure that every project translates into meaningful development for the people of Adamawa,” he stated.
The inspection team also visited the Sarki Kano–Wuro Hausa Road Project in Yola, where Barade met with project engineers and urged them to maintain professionalism and ensure timely completion of the project.
“Contractors must uphold the highest standards. These roads are for the benefit of residents and road users, and we cannot compromise on quality,” he said.
Barade reiterated the ministry’s commitment to monitoring ongoing projects across the state to ensure accountability and quality delivery.
“The Ministry of Works will continue to monitor all ongoing projects to guarantee value for money. We are committed to sustaining quality project delivery across the state,” he added.
Residents of the affected communities commended the state government for the projects, saying they would improve transportation and support socio-economic development.
A community leader observed, “These projects will ease transportation challenges and stimulate socio-economic growth. We commend the state government for prioritising infrastructure.”
The inspection, according to the commissioner, forms part of the state government’s efforts to accelerate road construction, urban renewal and rural connectivity across Adamawa State.
