Driver escapes death as truck overturns in Lagos

A driver narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation when a 40-foot container fell in the Mile 2 area of Lagos State. The incident occurred around 5 pm, as confirmed by the spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.

The truck transporting the container overturned, nearly crushing a black Toyota Jeep with the plate number AAA 144 GU. Fortunately, the driver of the Jeep emerged unharmed, while the truck driver sustained severe injuries and was promptly taken to the Apapa General Hospital for medical treatment.

In response to the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA emphasized the importance of caution for truck drivers on the roads. He extended sympathies to the injured parties and reiterated the commitment of the agency to uphold traffic regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.

Emergency services, including the Police and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency officials, were present at the scene to assist. A previous report highlighted another tragic accident in the CMS area where a minibus collided with a truck, resulting in a fatality.
