Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed 10 special advisers as part of efforts to constitute his cabinet for his second term in office.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, said the appointments followed the approval by the state House of Assembly of the governor’s request to appoint 10 SAs last week.
Oyebode stated in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Monday night that the Ekiti State House of Assembly had also confirmed the appointment of three commissioners-designate forwarded by the governor.
He said, “The swearing-in of the newly appointed SAs, together with the Commissioners-designate, is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, by 2.00pm”.
“Governor Oyebanji has approved the appointment of 10 Special Advisers, as part of efforts to constitute his cabinet for effective governance and improved service delivery.

Oyebanji was re-elected in the June 20 Ekiti State governorship election and inaugurated on October 16 for a fresh four-year term.
The governor had, on October 27, barely 10 days after his inauguration for a second term, written to the State House of Assembly, seeking approval for the reappointment of three commissioners who served in his first-term administration.
He also sought the Assembly’s approval for the appointment of 10 SAs “to assist in the day-to-day administration of the state”.
According to the letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, the governor said, “The proposed appointments reflect the governor’s intention to constitute key components of his administration early and ensure continuity in critical sectors of governance”.
