El Kanemi build structure, not players-Zubair

The head coach of El Kanemi Warriors, Aliyu Zubair, emphasized the club’s focus on building a strong team structure rather than solely developing individual players.

Zubair, who recently led the team to victory in the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship in Togo, highlighted the club’s unbeaten streak in the NPFL 2024/25 season, attributing it to their dedication to team organization.

He stressed the importance of maintaining a consistent team framework that provides equal training and tactical preparation to all players, regardless of their role in the team. This approach, according to Zubair, has been instrumental in El Kanemi Warriors’ success this season.

During the Kwara SWAN Sports Hard Talk, Zubair reiterated the club’s philosophy of prioritizing structure over individual player development, citing the ideal age range of 15–22 for nurturing coachable players.

He commended Kwara United for their investment in youth players and urged fans to support young talents as they represent the future of the club and the league.

Zubair expressed his appreciation for the guidance of his mentors, including Kadir Ikhana, Abdul Maikaba, John Obuh, and Tunde Sanni, for shaping his coaching philosophy and contributing to his career achievements.

El Kanemi Warriors secured a 1-0 victory over Katsina United, propelling them from fifth to fourth place in the league standings with 16 points. They currently trail behind Remo Stars, Rivers United, and Enyimba in the top positions.
