FG shortlists 11 directors for perm sec appointment

An internal memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation has disclosed that only 11 out of 19 directors who took the written interview for the permanent secretaries’ qualifying examination have been shortlisted for the final stage.

The memo, signed by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the exam committee, stated that the 11 candidates have advanced to the oral interview stage after successfully completing Stages I and II of the process.

The recruitment of new permanent secretaries by the Federal Government for vacancies in eight states was previously reported in October. A memo from the OHCSF mentioned that officials undergoing disciplinary procedures were ineligible to apply for the positions.

It was noted in the memo that the appointment process had received approval from the President. Out of the 38 directors who participated in the initial stage, 19 passed. Subsequently, 11 out of the 19 directors who proceeded to the second stage have now moved on to the third stage.

The announcement of the new permanent secretaries is expected to be made by President at the conclusion of the recruitment exercise.
