FRC organises retreat on fiscal discipline

An upcoming two-day sensitization retreat organized by the Fiscal Responsibility Commission is aimed at promoting fiscal discipline and good governance in North-Central Nigeria.

The retreat, titled ‘The Impact of Transparency and Accountability on Sub-National Development in North Central Nigeria,’ is scheduled to take place in Abuja from Thursday to Friday.

Stakeholders from the North-Central region, including state commissioners, accountants general, auditors-general, and representatives from various institutions, will participate in the event.

The agenda includes discussions on topics such as the role of transparency and accountability in attracting investments, enhancing fiscal discipline through money bills, and the importance of emotional intelligence in fiscal management.

This retreat is part of a larger series of programs organized by the FRC across different geopolitical zones in Nigeria to empower subnational governments in making informed decisions for the betterment of the citizens.
