Hamas will survive after Yahya Sinwar’s death, says Iran

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressed that despite the loss of Yahya Sinwar in an Israeli military operation, Hamas will continue to thrive. Khamenei emphasized that Sinwar’s martyrdom is painful for the resistance against Israel but stated that Hamas will persist. He praised Sinwar for his role in the resistance and called him a shining figure in the struggle. Khamenei highlighted Sinwar’s courage and determination against the enemy.

Khamenei also mentioned that Iran’s support for the Palestinian cause has been a key aspect of its foreign policy since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Sinwar took over as the leader of Hamas after the killing of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, a move widely attributed to Israel, though they have not claimed responsibility.
