FBNHoldings has recently appointed Adebowale Oyedeji as its new Group Managing Director, as revealed in a corporate notice submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited. The appointment of Oyedeji is set to be effective from November 13, pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria and confirmation by the Company’s Shareholders at the Annual General Meeting.
Femi Otedola, the Group Chairman of FBNHoldings, expressed satisfaction with the appointment, stating that they are looking forward to Oyedeji leveraging the company’s longstanding heritage and maintaining its leading position in the industry.
Oyedeji will be taking over from Nnamdi Okonkwo, who is retiring after completing his term. With a background in Agricultural Economics and Financial Economics, as well as extensive experience in banking and leadership roles, Oyedeji is well-equipped for the position. His previous roles include Managing Director at Guaranty Trust Bank UK and Executive Director at Guaranty Trust Bank.
Before joining FBNHoldings, Oyedeji served as MD/CEO at Nova Commercial Bank and played a pivotal role in the bank’s transition to a commercial institution. With over 30 years of experience, he is poised to lead the company and its subsidiaries in implementing a new five-year strategic plan.
