Help grow Nigeria’s future, Tinubu urges graduates

President Bola Tinubu recently addressed graduates of Nigerian universities, urging them to prioritize patriotism and resist the temptation to seek opportunities abroad. Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria has the potential to offer equally, if not better, prospects for its citizens. He stressed the importance of graduates using their knowledge and skills to drive positive change in society and contribute to the country’s growth and development.

Speaking at the combined convocation ceremony of the University of Uyo, Tinubu highlighted the need for graduates to be agents of change and utilize their expertise to address societal challenges. He encouraged them to refrain from seeking greener pastures overseas, emphasizing the potential for Nigeria to flourish.

Acknowledging the existing challenges in the country, Tinubu assured that measures are being implemented to alleviate the impact on vulnerable populations. He called for universities to prioritize research that addresses real-world issues and enhances human well-being.

The ceremony also saw the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, receiving a doctorate degree in political science. Eno expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and belief in realizing possibilities. The University’s officials and dignitaries commended the graduates on their achievements and encouraged them to uphold integrity and dedication in their future endeavors.

The University of Uyo’s Vice Chancellor highlighted the institution’s progress in various areas, including infrastructure development and academic accreditation. Efforts are underway to ensure all academic programs receive full accreditation status. The event also saw the conferment of distinguished professor titles to notable individuals for their contributions to academia.
