In the vicinity of Ikoku Market in Port Harcourt’s Mile area, chaos ensued when locals and passersby stumbled upon the lifeless body of an unidentified man bearing multiple machete wounds. The body was discovered in front of a modern bank between Ayama Junction and Olu-Obasanjo Road.

Speculation arose that the man might have been a victim of foul play due to the machete lacerations on his body. However, the Rivers State Police Command clarified that the deceased was a known criminal who was lynched by a mob for his alleged involvement in various crimes.

According to the police, the man was recognized as a suspect linked to a string of burglaries and similar offenses. The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, dismissed rumors of missing body parts, attributing additional injuries to a passing vehicle striking the abandoned body.
