Nigerian gospel film director recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Moses Korede Are, also known as “Baba Gbenro,” upon his passing. In a touching Facebook post, the director shared the final conversation he had with Baba Gbenro before his hospitalization.

Bamiloye reminisced about their chat where Baba Gbenro expressed his well wishes and urged Bamiloye not to be discouraged from reaching out to him during film shoots. Reflecting on Baba Gbenro’s dedication to gospel drama, Bamiloye emphasized that their ultimate boss is Jesus Christ, who decides when each person’s work on earth is done.

The post also mentioned that Baba Gbenro was actively involved in filming Abejoye Season 8 and Abattoir 5 before falling critically ill. Bamiloye highlighted the lesson learned from Baba Gbenro’s sudden departure, questioning when each person’s time to depart from this world will come.

Bamiloye described Baba Gbenro’s passing as a gain for Heaven, noting that he transitioned from this life to eternal peace in the afterlife. Baba Gbenro, known for his impactful role in Abattoir, is remembered as a devoted servant of God who has now found solace from the hustle of movie shoots.
