A call has been made by a representative of Kwara Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly for the involvement of retired permanent secretaries in governance and policy-making processes.
During the Annual Conference of the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries, Kwara chapter, in Ilorin, it was emphasized that Nigeria should tap into the wealth of experience and wisdom possessed by retired permanent secretaries, referring to them as crucial figures in the country.
The importance of the role retired permanent secretaries can play in addressing Nigeria’s challenges was highlighted, noting that their expertise is vital for national development.
Acknowledging the contribution of retired permanent secretaries, it was stated that retirement for individuals of their caliber signifies a new phase of service rather than the end.
Their significant role in translating policies into actionable programs and ensuring smooth administrative systems was recognized, with their insights seen as invaluable for the progress of the nation.
Furthermore, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board emphasized the essential role permanent secretaries play in policy formulation, implementation, and evaluation.
