Lagos taskforce dislodges traders from Ikotun BRT station, arrests nine

The Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Taskforce recently took action to remove traders and confiscate unlawfully displayed goods at the Ikotun BRT bus station. This operation was disclosed by the state Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab. The taskforce seized various items being illegally sold by vendors in and around the bus station.

According to Wahab, the taskforce’s enforcement at the Ikotun BRT bus station aimed to address the issue of street vendors taking over the area for commercial activities. All goods displayed without authorization were confiscated, and the station and its vicinity were cleared of the disruptions caused by these vendors converting public spaces into commercial zones.

During the operation, nine suspects were arrested, and they will face legal charges for their actions.
