Man remanded for defiling 11-year-old daughter in Ondo

A man named Moses Udoh was remanded in prison custody by a magistrate court in Akure, Ondo State, for allegedly assaulting his 11-year-old daughter. The incident took place on Igboniki Street in Akure, leading to his arrest by the state police. Udoh faced charges of indecent sexual assault of a minor and threat to life.

During the court proceedings, the prosecutor detailed how Udoh repeatedly engaged in sexual intercourse with his daughter, resulting in harm to the victim. The prosecutor also mentioned that Udoh threatened the victim to keep quiet about the abuse. These actions violated Sections 25(a) and 86(2) of the Ondo State Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law of 2021.

Udoh pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the prosecutor requested his remand in a correctional center pending further legal advice. The magistrate, Temilola Olusola-Olujobi, granted the request, ordering Udoh’s remand and transferring the case to the family court for trial scheduled for December 10.

The victim shared her experience, revealing that her father had been sexually assaulting her since she was 10 years old. She described how he threatened her and took measures to avoid detection, causing her distress and physical harm.
