The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) have joined forces to bolster public relations capabilities. This collaboration was highlighted during a recent visit by the NIPR Abuja chapter to NASRDA’s headquarters. Dr Felix Ale, NASRDA’s Director of Media and Corporate Communications, revealed this partnership in a statement. Dr Matthew Adepoju, NASRDA’s Director General, praised NIPR for its dedication to professionalism and highlighted the importance of public relations in advancing national development.
During the visit, Adepoju emphasized the need for high-quality public relations services across all sectors and encouraged professionals to enhance communication strategies nationwide. The delegation, led by Mr Edward Adebanjo, expressed appreciation for the reception and formally invited Adepoju to chair the 2024 Annual Conference and General Meeting of NIPR, scheduled for November 2024. The conference theme, ‘Leadership and Economic Transformation,’ will explore the link between effective leadership and economic growth.
NASRDA’s commitment to professional development was underscored by Ale’s announcement of a new training initiative for all Media and Corporate Communications staff, set to commence next year. The training will also include their induction as accredited NIPR members. Ale described this initiative as unprecedented and aimed at enhancing staff productivity and professionalism, with Adepoju championing the effort. This partnership between NASRDA and NIPR signifies a significant stride in improving public relations practices within the agency, contributing to the overarching goal of national development.
