Ogun monarch canvasses cultural unity, economic integration

The leader of Remoland, Babatunde Ajayi, stressed the importance of utilizing culture to promote peace, unity, and economic collaboration for the benefit of the community. This was highlighted during a press briefing at his palace in Sagamu, Ogun State, where he announced the upcoming Remo Day Festival in December 2025.

Ajayi, represented by the Elepe of Epe, Sagamu, Adewale Osiberu, explained that the festival aims to honor the cultural heritage of all 43 Remo towns while enhancing their unity and economic ties.

He expressed the desire to create a significant platform to strengthen bonds and unity among Remo people, emphasizing the need for collaboration to advance the socio-economic development of all communities in Remo Land.

The festival, scheduled for December, is open to all sons and daughters of Remo Land, both locally and internationally. It is envisioned as a way to reconnect with roots and propel the development of Remo Land to greater heights.

Wole Sowole, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, revealed that the Remo Growth and Development Foundation is organizing the festival under the monarch’s directive. The event will feature an art exhibition showcasing the community’s uniqueness, cultural heritage, and achievements, along with an art competition for secondary schools.

Seni Adetu, Chairman of the Remo Development Growth Foundation, reiterated the group’s commitment to driving socio-economic progress throughout Remo Land.
