Oyo to onboard 5,600 newly recruited teachers

The government of Oyo State has revealed plans to add 5,600 newly recruited teachers to its system, with assignments to public elementary schools on the horizon. The Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Nureni Adeniran, shared this information. The verification process for successful candidates will take place from December 5 to December 16, 2024, at the board’s headquarters in Agodi, Ibadan. The chairman emphasized that this initiative is part of Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts to improve teachers’ well-being in the state. He urged candidates to bring the necessary documentation for the verification process, which starts at 9 a.m. daily. These 5,600 candidates are the first group approved by the governor, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing educational needs in the state.
