Prioritise unity over 2027 ambitions, Makinde, Saraki urge PDP leaders

During a recent event at the national headquarters in Abuja, leaders within the Peoples Democratic Party emphasized the importance of party unity over individual presidential aspirations. Concerns arose regarding potential divisions within the party due to ambitions from key figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

The party leaders stressed the need to prioritize the party’s core values and principles over personal ambitions. They highlighted the significance of focusing on the party’s identity, policies, and the issues that matter to Nigerians rather than individual aspirations for political office.

The event also marked the inauguration of the Board of Governors and the unveiling of the roadmap for the Peoples Democratic Institute. The leaders underscored the party’s commitment to fostering unity, especially as they prepare for upcoming elections like the governorship race in Ondo State.

Governor Makinde expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the party and emphasized the importance of preserving the party’s integrity and values. He called for unity and collaboration within the party to secure victory in future elections and to offer real hope and direction for Nigeria.

The event symbolized a renewed commitment by the PDP to strengthen the party, plan for effective governance, and work towards rebuilding the nation. The leaders emphasized the party’s dedication to creating opportunities for the youth in politics and to ultimately bring about positive change for the people of Nigeria.
