Select new Osun monarch with wisdom, NGO urges stakeholders

A foundation known as the Kayode Michael Arimoro Foundation has issued a statement urging the king makers in Ijesha Land, Osun State, as well as the state and Federal Governments, to handle the selection of a new Owa Obokun of Ijesha Land with wisdom and respect following the passing of the former Owa Obokun, Adekunle Aromolaran.

The foundation emphasized the importance of a peaceful selection process to prevent conflicts and violence. They paid tribute to the late monarch in their statement titled “Tribute to Owa Aromolaran and Call for a Peaceful Selection of the New Owa Obokun of Ijesha Land”.

The foundation highlighted the exemplary service and dedication of the late Owa Obokun, emphasizing the need for all stakeholders to approach the selection process with reverence and adherence to the traditions of Ijesha Land. They stressed the importance of selecting a successor who embodies the values and aspirations of the people.

Emphasizing the historical significance of the Owa Obokun throne as a symbol of unity and strength, the foundation called for a fair and transparent selection process within the Bilaro Ruling House. They urged stakeholders to engage in dialogue and maintain a peaceful atmosphere during this critical period.

The foundation concluded by urging all members of the community to honor the legacy of Owa Obokun Adekunle Aromolaran by coming together to find a new leader capable of guiding Ijesha Land towards a prosperous future. They called for unity, peace, and understanding during the transition period after the late Owa’s final rites have been conducted.
