The Secretary to the Government of the Federation has advised the newly appointed ministers to prioritize the national interest over personal, ethnic, or sectional concerns. Following a recent cabinet reshuffle by the President, new ministers were appointed to key positions, including Minister of Labour and Employment, Minister for Livestock Development, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Minister of State for Education, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
During a two-day induction retreat in Abuja, the ministers were reminded of their responsibility to drive the administration’s agenda for development, stability, and growth while promoting national unity. The government’s focus includes addressing poverty, enhancing security, economic diversification, and improving critical infrastructure.
The retreat, facilitated by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, aimed to equip the ministers with the necessary knowledge and strategies to effectively fulfill their roles in alignment with the administration’s goals. By working together as a cohesive team, the ministers are expected to contribute to the successful implementation of the government’s agenda.
