Continuing his drive to bring electricity to the entire Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency, a Member of the Federal House of Representatives from Taraba State, Jafaru Yakubu, who chairs the House Committee on Nigeria-China Relations, initiated the rural electrification/extension of a 33KVA line from Sunkani to Garba-Chede in Taraba State on Monday.
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, represented by the Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hamma Adama Abdullahi, emphasized the importance of electricity for the economic development of the communities. He urged the contractors to ensure that the light reaches all corners of Garba-Chede town to provide electricity access for everyone.
He acknowledged the ongoing electrification efforts and the installation of solar street lights as signs of Hon. Jafaru’s dedication to addressing issues in his constituency and beyond.
In his address, Hon. Jafaru reiterated his dedication and readiness to bring more development projects to Garba-Chede.
The lawmaker urged the people of Garba-Chede to continue supporting and praying for him as he plans to implement more empowerment and development initiatives that will benefit all constituents.
Present at the event were the PDP State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, and Hon. Veronica Alhassan, represented by Mallam Habila Bala Balasa.
Also in attendance were the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Digital Communication, Emmanuel Bello; Jafaru Yakubu Campaign Council Chairman, Alhaji Uba Sanda; among others.
Alhaji Mustapha Musa, speaking on behalf of the community, commended the lawmaker for his efforts in connecting Garba-Chede to the national grid.
He highlighted that the community had been without electricity for over 30 years, hindering their quality of life and businesses.
