President Bola Tinubu conveyed warm congratulations to Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, on his 70th birthday. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu lauded Bakare for his service to the nation, hailing him as “one of Nigeria’s most influential voices.”
Recognized as a distinguished lawyer, pastor, leader, author, advocate for good governance, and politician, Bakare has made substantial contributions to Nigerian society. Tinubu highlighted Bakare’s founding of The Latter Rain Assembly, now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC).
On this significant occasion, President Tinubu united with Pastor Bakare’s family, friends, and the Christian community to celebrate his profound impact as a religious leader and advocate.
Tinubu also praised Bakare’s patriotic endeavors in championing a better Nigeria, highlighting his leadership in the Save Nigeria Group.
“As a co-convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), he played a key role in leading civil demonstrations during pivotal moments in our nation’s history.
“The President acknowledges Bakare’s steadfast faith and unwavering commitment to advancing crucial causes for societal betterment, identifying Pastor Bakare as one of Nigeria’s most influential voices,” the statement further stated.
Marking this milestone, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt wishes for Bakare’s health and longevity.
“President Tinubu wishes him good health and many more years of dedicated service in the Lord’s vineyard and in the advancement of our beloved nation,” the statement concluded.
It was also noted that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu congratulated Bakare, referring to him as a “faithful servant of God, transformative leader, and tireless advocate for good governance.”
