The University College Hospital in Ibadan is working on implementing alternative energy sources to address power outages in the facility. The hospital management expressed concern for patients inconvenienced by the outages and assured efforts are being made to resolve the issue. The hospital’s Public Relations Officer stated that discussions with the electricity distribution company regarding outstanding bills are ongoing. The hospital has deployed backup generators and solar panels to critical areas like the Emergency Department, operating theatres, and laboratories. Emergency response plans are in place to ensure patient care continuity during outages. The hospital remains committed to providing adequate and effective service despite the challenges posed by the power situation.
