An emotional scene unfolded at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology when a female lecturer was moved to tears after her students surprised her with various gifts in appreciation of her dedication and positive impact on their academic lives.
The moment, captured in a video shared on X Friday 6th of June 2026 by #NigeriaStories, has since gone viral, drawing widespread reactions online.
The surprise took place during a lecture session as students presented the lecturer with items including packs of bottled water, a stylish black handbag, household goods, and other wrapped presents.
Video footage circulating on social media shows the lecturer visibly overwhelmed as students crowded around her. Initially composed, she soon struggled to hold back emotions, with tears flowing as students hugged her, placed their hands on her shoulders, and cheered. One student held up a large sheet displaying handwritten messages or notes, while others recorded the moment on their phones.
