Pop star, Wizkid’s first son, Boluwatife Balogun, popularly known as Champz, has sparked fresh reactions online after a video of his school presentation surfaced, showing him delivering a poised and articulate speech at a TEDx event held at TEDxGrange School, Lagos.
The event themed, “The Edge of Possible,” was part of a student-led TEDx programme organised by the school in celebration of Children’s Day. It brought together young speakers to share ideas on confidence, creativity, resilience, and personal growth.
In the now-viral clip shared on his Instagram page, Boluwatife is seen standing confidently before a student audience, speaking with calm assurance as he reflects on fear, determination, and self-belief. His delivery quickly caught attention online, not only for the content of his message but also for his composure and stage presence at his age.
“What is the impossible? We call something impossible because it has never been done before. God is always by my side. Before I came up here, I was praying to myself, ‘God, please give me the confidence to overcome the nervousness I am facing,’” he said.
He continued, “I am going to make the impossible possible. Who are you to tell me I won’t succeed? Rome was not built in a day; don’t expect all your dreams to be achieved at once. You have to be ready to take losses because in life, not everything goes according to plan. And when you take a loss, you plan how to get back up and come back stronger.”
Since the video began circulating across social media platforms, it has drawn widespread praise, with many users commending his confidence, clarity of thought, and stage presence. Some also highlighted the values reflected in his delivery, crediting his upbringing and support system for his composure.
The moment has further intensified public interest in the young Balogun, whose occasional appearances online continue to attract attention despite his father, music star Wizkid, maintaining a largely private approach to family life.
Boluwatife has already begun building his music career with the release of his debut EP titled ‘Champion’s Arrival’ in November 2025.
He further expanded his catalogue with the release of ‘No Worries’ on May 1, 2026, adding to his earlier efforts and positioning him as a rising young talent.
For many observers, Champz’s growing visibility is beginning to echo familiar narratives of legacy in Nigerian music history, with comparisons already being drawn to generational artistry lines, much like the children of late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who have carried forward elements of their father’s musical influence.
