INEC denies obstructing inspection of BVAS, election materials in Edo

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Anugbum Onuoha, dismissed the allegations as baseless and misleading, emphasizing the commission’s commitment to transparency and fairness in electoral processes.

Dr. Onuoha clarified that the commission had scheduled a day for the inspection of materials at its Benin headquarters, in line with its obligation to facilitate the process for political parties involved in election petitions. He assured that no party was denied access to the materials and reiterated INEC’s dedication to upholding the rule of law.

The REC emphasized the importance of following legal procedures for accessing and inspecting election materials, urging stakeholders to engage constructively and disregard unfounded accusations.
