A former player of Manchester United, Ruud van Nistelrooy, has expressed his dedication to assist the new coach, Ruben Amorim, at the club.
Despite being considered as a potential replacement for the recently sacked Erik Ten Hag, van Nistelrooy has confirmed his decision to remain with Manchester United after Amorim’s appointment.
In a statement made on Sunday, van Nistelrooy mentioned, “Staying here with Amorim? I’m here to help. Manchester United is the only assistant job I would consider, and I have truly enjoyed this role.”
He further stated, “I took on the assistant manager position with pride and commitment.”
It is noteworthy that van Nistelrooy had a successful start as a caretaker manager for Manchester United, leading the team to the League Cup quarter-finals with a 5-2 victory over Leicester at Old Trafford.
He became part of the Red Devils’ staff last summer.
Manchester United reportedly appointed Ruben Amorim as the new manager, with the team currently placed 13th in the EPL standings and set to play against Chelsea on Sunday.
