Nababa bows out as CG correctional service, thanks colleagues

The head of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa, retired from his position after completing his service tenure. A ceremony was held in Abuja to mark his departure, where he reflected on his time in office. Nababa emphasized the collaborative approach he took during his 34 years of service, focusing on engaging stakeholders to improve the service and address new challenges.

During his leadership, notable advancements were made in security, logistics, healthcare, staff training, and inmate welfare. Nababa acknowledged the support of his team and emphasized the importance of upholding the service’s integrity. Following his retirement, Nwakuche Ndidi was appointed as the Acting Comptroller General by President Bola Tinubu. Ndidi, who has a background in training and staff development, was praised for his qualifications and is expected to continue building on Nababa’s accomplishments.
