The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, recently handed over cheques totaling over N88.6 million to the families of 54 deceased officers in the state. This gesture was part of the Police Public Relations Officer’s announcement on Tuesday.
During the presentation, the Commissioner expressed his condolences to the families and commended the Inspector General of Police for the swift disbursement of the funds. He highlighted that the funds were provided through the IGP’s Family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme. The Commissioner advised the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely.
The statement emphasized the commitment of the Inspector General of Police to prioritize the welfare of police officers and their families. It called on the recipients to responsibly manage the funds to support themselves and their families.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support and pledged to use the funds effectively, while also praying for blessings for the IGP, the Commissioner, and the Nigerian Police Force.
