A talented artist from Nigeria, Etinosa Yvonne, has been honored with the Access ART X Lagos Alumni Impact Award, a special recognition for past recipients of the Access ART X Prize.
Yvonne was presented with the Alumni Impact Award during the ART X Lagos VIP Preview, as announced by a banking institution on Monday.
Expressing her gratitude, the artist remarked, “Receiving the Access ART X Prize Alumni Impact Award is truly an honor. It demonstrates the genuine interest and strong commitment of Access Holdings and ART X in supporting and fostering the growth and progress of artists at all stages of their careers.”
The Access ART X Prize, established in 2016, serves as a platform for emerging artists to promote artistic excellence and create a lasting influence on the global art scene, with Access Holdings as one of the sponsors of the Prize.
The Alumni Impact Award, in line with the theme of ‘Promised Lands’ for ART X Lagos 2024, underscores the fair’s dedication to nurturing continuous artistic development throughout Africa.
During the VIP Preview, Roosevelt Ogbonna, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, stated, “At Access, we believe that empowerment is essential for progress, transcending beyond the financial realm. Through our support of ART X Lagos and initiatives like the Access ART X Prize, we aim to cultivate a vibrant and long-lasting art ecosystem across Africa, fostering creativity and amplifying cultural impact.”
“This year, with the special Alumni Impact Award, we not only celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of past winners of the Access ART X Prize but also acknowledge their commitment to showcasing African narratives on the global stage,” Ogbonna concluded.
