N’Delta elder statesman wants Nigeria restructured into six nations

A prominent figure and activist from the Niger Delta region has proposed the restructuring of Nigeria into six autonomous nations as a solution to the current challenges facing the country.

In an interview, the elder statesman suggested that the current President should take inspiration from the British system of governance to address the nation’s issues.

The advocate recommended dividing Nigeria into six zones, each with its own president serving a two-year term on a rotational basis, totaling 12 years in office.

Furthermore, he proposed a system where each zone would have its own Vice President working alongside the President, ensuring continuity and effective governance.

Additionally, the activist emphasized the importance of resource control, suggesting a tax system to contribute to the central government while allowing states and local governments to manage their resources efficiently.

He also proposed renaming the country to Oloibiri as a tribute to the community that played a significant role in the country’s oil production history.
