Oyo unveils first batch of newly recruited teachers, caregivers

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board has announced the recruitment of 5,600 new primary school teachers and 80 caregivers in the state. The Chairman of SUBEB, Nureni Adeniran, disclosed this information in Ibadan, the state capital. The list of successful candidates has been approved by the state Governor and will be accessible for viewing on the board’s portal from a specified date.

The newly appointed teachers and caregivers are the initial group selected from the recent recruitment drive conducted by the board. They are scheduled to undergo a verification process at the board’s headquarters, with further details to be communicated to them in the near future.

Adeniran emphasized that the recruitment was conducted without any bias towards political, religious, ethnic, or gender considerations. Merit was the sole criteria for selection. He urged the new recruits to see their roles as a noble responsibility and to demonstrate commitment and diligence in their duties.

Additionally, the SUBEB chairman assured that the recruitment process would continue, with more successful candidates set to join the educational workforce in the coming phases.
