The Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, has initiated an investigation into the recent attacks on the Lokpanta Cattle Market in Umunneochi Local Government Area and Eziama Nunya in Isuikwato Local Government Area. The decision to probe the incidents was announced by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, in a statement.
The commissioner visited the affected areas for an on-the-spot assessment following the assault on seven youths by unidentified attackers. He expressed his concerns to the community and assured them of a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice. The statement also mentioned the recovery of 56 out of the 65 missing cattle through collaboration with local guards from the Seriki Hausa. Efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining cattle and apprehend the perpetrators. The commissioner urged the community to remain calm, avoid vigilante actions, and cooperate with the police during the investigation.
