Tributes as Senate holds valedictory session for late Ubah

In a solemn session at the Senate, heartfelt tributes were paid to the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away on July 26. Ubah, who represented Anambra South Senatorial District in the 9th and 10th Senate, was remembered for his contributions and dedication to public service.

During the Valedictory Session, Senate members, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, honored Ubah by wearing traditional attire. The Senate chamber was adorned with flowers and the Nigerian flag in remembrance of the late senator.

Dignitaries such as Vice-President Kashim Shettima, former Anambra State governor Senator Chris Ngige, and others attended the session to pay their respects. The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also led a delegation in a procession around Ubah’s casket.

In poignant eulogies, Vice President Shettima and others highlighted Ubah’s generosity, political prowess, and commitment to helping others. They emphasized his impact on the Senate and the nation, expressing deep sorrow over his untimely passing.

The Senate observed a minute of silence in honor of Senator Ubah and resolved to send a delegation to offer condolences to his family. His legacy as a dedicated public servant and philanthropist was celebrated during the session, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
