ASUU members protest in Gombe, demand sacked colleagues’ reinstatement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities at the Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State branch organized a solidarity rally to address the termination of appointments for some of its members at various universities across the country. The lecturers allegedly faced victimization at several institutions, including Lagos State University, Kogi State University, Ebonyi State University, Ambrose Alli University, Chukwuemeka Odumegu Ojukwu University, and Federal University of Technology Owerri.

During the protest, the branch Chairman, Dr. Shehu El-Rasheed, and Secretary, Mohammed Musa, highlighted the challenges faced by their colleagues and called upon the governing councils of the affected universities to reinstate, promote, and release withheld salaries. They emphasized that justice delayed is justice denied and urged swift action to resolve the issues causing hardship to the affected members.

ASUU-FUK emphasized the importance of the governing councils and visitors of the universities taking decisive steps to address the ongoing problems and ensure the smooth operation of the institutions.
