WAFCON: Nigeria face Tunisia, Algeria, Botswana in Group B

During the 13th Women Africa Cup of Nations finals set to be held in Morocco next summer, Nigeria will face off against two North African teams – Tunisia and Algeria – as well as Botswana in Group B.

The Nigerian Falcons will have the opportunity to compete against Algeria’s Green Ladies once again, after securing victories of 2-0 and 4-1 in two friendly matches held in Nigeria last month.

Botswana, who eliminated Gabon in the qualifying rounds, and Tunisia, who reached the quarter-finals in the previous edition hosted by Morocco, complete Group B.

The draw, which took place at the Technical Centre of the Mohamed VI Football Complex in Sale, revealed that host nation Morocco, placed in Group A, will contend with Zambia, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Defending champions South Africa find themselves in Group C, where they will compete against Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania in the 12-nation final tournament spanning from July 5 to July 26, 2025.

Hosts Morocco emerged as runners-up in the previous edition, with Zambia claiming the bronze after defeating Nigeria 1-0 in the third-place match.
